About Us

Hi, I’m Sylvain, founder of Village Campervan and a former banker turned adventure enthusiast.

Growing up in a small town on the East Coast, I developed a deep connection with the outdoors. After moving to Calgary in 2018 to pursue my banking career, I became captivated by the nearby mountains, which sparked my passion for campervan travel. Like many others, my wife Yuliia and I dreamed of the freedom of van life but were shocked by the high cost of pre-converted vans. Determined to create our own, we quickly discovered how challenging and overwhelming the DIY process could be.

Over the next four years, I worked with an incredible team, converting and restoring campervans to help more people join the movement. During those early builds, I saw an opportunity to offer affordable and practical solutions for semi and full campervan conversions—developing our own designs and layouts and refining the way vans are built from start to finish. That vision became the foundation of Village Campervan.

With the support of my design and production team, we’ve focused on refining layouts and testing our conversions across different cargo van models to ensure they are practical, safe, cozy, and affordable for real-life travel.

Today, Village Campervan offers semi and full campervan conversions, along with campervans for sale that we build in-house. We’re also preparing to expand into rentals and conversion kits, with the goal of giving even more people a simple and accessible path into van life. Operating out of our facility near Calgary, we build the conversions we wish had existed when we first started.
